The management of the American team decided to suspend the 23-year-old basketball player. The player was suspended from training with the team as a result of an incident that occurred a few weeks ago.

According to the information provided by the AR news agency, Porter Jr. is facing charges of violence and bodily harm to his girlfriend. The whole situation happened on September 11 in a New York hotel. The woman suffered a fractured cervical vertebra and a wound above her right eye.

The Houston Rockets player pleaded not guilty to the charges against him. The hearing in his case will take place on October 16 in a Manhattan court. Until then, he will be out of the team, as announced by the club’s CEO.

The incident in early September was not Porter’s only recent offense. For several years, he has had huge problems off the court.

In 2021, the Houston Rockets basketball player violated security rules related to Covid-19. After one of the matches, he was spotted in a Miami nightclub. A few months earlier, he was detained by the police. Police found a loaded gun and marijuana in his car.
